Advocacy support

Route1 Advocacy provides advice and support to young people who are in care or leaving care in Somerset.

Your voice, your rights, advice, support, solutions, alongside you.
What is advocacy? An advocate is your voice but louder!

Advocates are:

  • Independent
  • Always there to listen

Advocates can:

  • Attend meetings with you
  • Contact people for you
  • Help you know your rights
  • Visit you to get your views
  • Give advice
  • Help you find solutions and get answers

Advocates can help you with things like:

  • Meetings
  • School or college
  • Home or placement
  • Understanding
  • Leaving care
  • Knowing what to say

Need an advocate?

We are available to help you talk about your issues. You can contact us or ask somebody else to. We will listen carefully to you and help you make sure that people who make decisions about your life are listening to what you have to say.
